Mark Haines, anchor of CNBC's Squawk Box in the mornings just died. They were really eulogizing him maybe a bit much, but he was one of the guys I respected there (Rick Santelli is the guy I liked the best, you know, the guy whose RANT practically started the Tea Party).
For years now (over 10), my preference has been to wake up at 9:30 AM (ET) to catch the opening of the stock market. Haines was the guy on at that time. And I liked his style.
I especially liked his coverage on September 11, 2001. I had just turned on the TV, right before 9:30, and then learned about the attacks on the Towers.
RIP, Mark Haines. You are in an even better place than CNBC now.
